THE ARTIST

An ancient futurist emerges from tirelessly journeying into the alchemical point between esoteric and modern. This lightning strike & NDE survivor, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, live remixer-performer, sound researcher and sonic healer is breaking down boundaries and blending genres around the globe. Reyn Wakefield (aka Philip Joseph) is a vibrational veteran, with a vast and colorful background in sound; researching, producing and performing under the monikers of REYN WAKEFIELD, WAKEN REYN, REAL EYES, PjOE, USS, Sonic Attunement, Da Riddim INya and CYMATIK. He has spent the last 15 years nurturing a unique perspective on vibration - studying cross cultural shamanic rhythms, ancient pyramid temple acoustics, cymatics, sound therapy, jazz, electronic music and sacred geometry.

Reyn is a natural multi-instrumentalist, percussionist, and studio guru with expertise in mixing and mastering, learning studio audio techniques from the well known Danny Wyatt (Portishead, De Lite, WuTang Clan, Mos Def, Norah Jones). The sound artist is always experimenting with the piano, guitar, didgeridoo, tuning forks, singing bowls, a wide range of percussive instruments and the revolutionary illumin-S Laser Harp - a custom built interactive laser based instrument used to control an array of sounds and instruments during his live shows. While still attending high school he became a Berklee College of Music award winning jazz bassist and was honored with a full musical scholarship.
